First Friday February - 2023

Happy February! The month of love and giving gifts to the people you love. Speaking of gifts, you could always give a Soap Subscription to your loved ones, just saying 😘

As for me, I’m falling back in love with my business. Honestly, this past summer and the Holidays left me feeling pretty burnt out. I’m finding my way back into my soap studio and feeling inspired to finish and start new projects around the house. It feels good.

Enough about that, let’s make a cocktail!

February Cocktail

This month I'm making a Negroni. This classic Italian cocktail originated in Florence, Italy, in the early 1900s by Count Camillo Negroni. To make his drink a bit stronger he asked the bartender to replace the soda water in his cocktail with gin, and the cocktail was born. There are many variations made with whiskey, vodka, or tequila, I definitely prefer gin.

Here is how you make this cocktail:

Over ice, combine 3/4 Gin, 3/4 Campari, and 3/4 Sweet Vermouth, stir and strain into a rocks glass with ice and garnish with an orange peel.

This beautiful cocktail is perfect for February; it’s a sweet and spicy sipping drink that pairs perfectly with charcuterie.

Featured Soap

I am actually going to feature two:

Wine Soap

Both are made with local wine and beer from the suburbs of Philadelphia. They have a rich and creamy lather and are skin loving! I hope you check them out!

Monthly Winner:

Sarah E. I'll send you some beer and wine soap, so be on the lookout for them coming your way! Also, thank you for supporting my shop!

Around the House

I made a frame for our old TV and absolutely loved it! You can read about it here.

This month I’m going to finish decorating the hallway. I started painting the ceiling a year ago and have not done much since. It felt so good to complete the TV frame, and I can’t wait decorate this hallway.

Things I’m Loving

I haven't shared this, but I wanted to mention here it because it's amazing! I was contacted back in the summer to try the Brinks push, pull, rotate door knob to review it. I put it on the door from the garage to the house. My hands are always full when I'm coming and going. I love that I can pull the knob when I'm leaving and give the knob a push to open the door when coming home. You can check them out here.

These foaming hand soap dispensers are perfect! Did you know you can easily make your own foaming hand soap? It’s natural, cleansing, and so much better for the environment. These pumps are perfect for when you make your own foaming soap.
